Understanding yourself changes everything.

Sometimes we know something is not working, but we do not yet understand what keeps bringing us back to it. MiSN offers a calm, non-judgemental space to slow down, explore what is happening and consider what you want to do next.

Human Behaviour

Understanding thoughts, emotions, responses and patterns that influence everyday life.

Relationships

Explore relationship patterns, communication, attachment, boundaries and connection.

Habits & Addiction

Understand repetitive or difficult-to-control behaviours with curiosity rather than shame.

A Calm, Warm and Human Space to Explore Your Life

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you reach out.

You don’t need the perfect words, a clear explanation, or even to know exactly what you want to change.

Sometimes you simply know that something doesn’t feel right. You may feel stuck in the same patterns, confused about a relationship, frustrated with yourself, or tired of repeating behaviours you thought you had already understood.
You can start there.

You can come exactly as you are.

My approach is warm, calm, curious and deeply human. I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can slow things down, talk openly and begin to understand what may be happening underneath the surface.

You don’t have to impress me, convince me or have your story perfectly organised.

We can make sense of it together.

You Are the Expert on Your Own Life

I don’t believe counselling is about someone sitting across from you and telling you how to live your life.
I’m not here to control your decisions, push you towards an answer or assume that I know you better than you know yourself.

My role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, notice patterns with you and help you hear yourself more clearly.

Sometimes we already have an answer somewhere inside us — but fear, expectations, past experiences, habits or other people’s voices have made it difficult to hear.

Our work creates space for your own voice to become clearer.

I sit beside you, not above you.
We work together, at your pace.

Warmth, Curiosity and Connection

Growing up in South America, warmth, conversation and human connection have always been a natural part of the way I relate to people.

I bring that warmth into my work. I want our conversations to feel professional, but also real.
There can be reflection and serious conversations, but there can also be humour, curiosity, honesty and moments when we simply stop and look at something from a completely different angle.

You are not a diagnosis, a problem to solve or a list of symptoms.

You are a person with experiences, relationships, memories, fears, hopes, contradictions and a story that deserves to be understood in context

My Approach

A Space Where You Can Be Honest — Even When Life Feels Messy

You can bring the parts of yourself that you understand and the parts that still confuse you.

You can talk about the relationship you keep thinking about.
The behaviour you keep repeating.
The decision you cannot seem to make.
The boundary you struggle to hold.
The habit you want to understand.
The version of yourself you are trying to become.
You can also bring the things you feel embarrassed, uncertain or conflicted about.
My intention is not to meet those parts of you with shame or judgement.
It is to meet them with curiosity.

One question I often come back to is:

What purpose might this behaviour, feeling or pattern be serving?
Because when we understand why something is happening, we often have more choice about what happens next.

Simple. Human. Supportive.

A Little About Me

My interest in counselling grew from a lifelong curiosity about people — why we think the way we do, why certain patterns repeat, and why relationships can affect us so deeply.

Originally from Brazil and now based in Australia, I’ve experienced different cultures, languages and ways of relating to people. Those experiences have shaped the way I see human behaviour and helped me appreciate that there is rarely only one way to understand a person or their story.

Before moving into counselling, my background included working across different areas involving people, communication and human behaviour. What I enjoy most now is creating conversations where people can slow down, become curious about themselves and begin to see their lives from a different perspective.

Outside counselling, I’m naturally curious, creative and always learning. I’m especially interested in relationships, human behaviour, communication, habits and the way our experiences shape who we become.

Understanding Before Judgement

I believe meaningful change often begins with understanding.
Instead of immediately asking, “How do I stop this?”, sometimes it helps to first ask:
What is happening here?
What am I feeling?
What am I needing?
What keeps bringing me back to this?
What am I protecting myself from?
What would I choose if I understood myself a little better?
Understanding a behaviour does not mean approving of everything we do.

It means becoming curious enough to understand what is driving it — so that change can come from awareness rather than shame.

My style is collaborative, reflective and practical.

Depending on what you bring into the session, I may draw on CBT-informed tools and Motivational Interviewing, alongside open conversation, reflection and thoughtful questioning.

Sometimes we may explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions and behaviour.

Sometimes we may look at recurring relationship patterns.
Sometimes we may explore ambivalence — the part of you that wants something to change and the part that is not quite ready to let it go.

And sometimes what you need most is simply a place to speak freely and feel genuinely heard.
There is no single formula.
Each session is shaped around you — your story, your pace, your needs and what feels most important at that moment.

These are the three main areas at the heart of my work.

Human Behaviour
Understanding your thoughts, emotions, reactions, choices and the patterns that influence the way you move through life.

Relationships
Exploring dating, communication, boundaries, attraction, attachment, expectations, connection and the patterns that appear in the way you relate to others.

Habits & Addictions
Looking with curiosity at behaviours that feel repetitive, difficult to control or hard to change — and exploring what those behaviours may be providing, protecting or helping you escape from.

  • These areas often overlap.
  • A relationship pattern may connect to self-esteem.
  • A habit may connect to loneliness or stress.
  • A communication difficulty may connect to fear of rejection.
  • Human behaviour rarely exists in neat little boxes.
  • That is why we look at the whole picture.

You may come to counselling knowing exactly what you want to work on.

Or you may simply know:

“Something needs to change, but I don’t know where to start.”
That is enough.

We can start with what is happening now.
One conversation at a time.
One question at a time.
One piece of understanding at a time.
My hope is that you leave our conversations feeling a little clearer, a little more connected to yourself and more able to make choices that reflect who you want to become.
You don’t have to walk through everything alone.

I’ll walk beside you.
